About My Name ♡

You might be wondering where "Rikhi" and my other name variations come from!Rikhi is a nameplay on my full name: Reiya Keith Alberich
When written in Japanese, Alberich becomes アルベリヒ (Aruberihi) — so I took "Riki" from it and stylized it as "Rikhi" because it looked cute! (⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄<⁄ ⁄)It also works as an acronym: Ri (ReIya) + K (Keith) + Hi (AlberiCH, based on German pronunciation) = Rikhi!Richark is another variation: Ri (ReIya) + CH (alberiCH) + ARK (acronym of my full name: Alberich Reiya Keith).Other nicknames:♡ Rei — obviously just a short form of Reiya!
♥ Nyam — comes from my NIM (student ID number). My last two digits are 66, which in Indonesian is read as "enam-enam." My friend playfully twisted it into "nyam-nyam" (the sound of eating), so it stuck!

So, about the full name I use here—it's not my legal name, at least not yet. But I've been introducing myself as Reiya Keith Alberich ever since I started college.Only my old classmates still remember my legal name. To everyone else, I've always been Reiya. Even the lecturers who taught my classes knew my original name, but they still called me Reiya, just like the rest of my classmates.Meanwhile, people in my hometown—neighbors, relatives, and anyone who knew me before college—still use my original name. That includes old friends from elementary, middle, and high school.My parents and siblings also know about the new name, and even though they haven't switched to calling me that (probably out of habit, and because I haven't legally changed it yet), they're aware of it and not opposing about it.Interestingly, I've always had a different nickname for every stage of my education. It's basically the same name, using the same characters, just in different variations.Why? Don't ask. I honestly have no idea either. (｡•́︿•̀｡)It doesn't really bother me. In fact, it's kind of helpful—I can tell "who's who" in my life just by how they call me.I first started searching for a new name during my third year of high school. At the time, I hadn't studied Japanese formally—I only started that once I entered college—so my understanding of kanji and Japanese naming conventions was still pretty limited. I basically pieced the name together using words I knew and liked. So yeah, if it sounds a little strange, that's why. (・・;)ゞ

Reiya (冷夜 / 玲夜)

Japanese:冷 (れい, Rei) = "cold" or "cool"
夜 (や, Ya) = "night"
Meaning: "Cold night"Or with 玲:玲 (れい, Rei) = "the tinkling of jade" / "gem-like" / "diamond"
夜 (や, Ya) = "night"
Meaning: "Diamond in the night"Chinese:玲 (líng) = delicate, resonant, beautiful — suggests brightness, clarity, or a gem-like quality, like the tinkling sound of jade or the brilliance of a diamond
夜 (yè) = "night"玲夜 (Líng Yè) = "A shining brilliance in the silent night" or "a gemstone gleaming in darkness"I was born at 3 a.m., so a cold, dark night felt fitting. But I also wanted something symbolic — a diamond shining in darkness, like a guiding light or hidden brilliance in the quiet of night.

Keith

Inspired by Keith Aero Windermere from Macross Delta — the calm, commanding Silver Knight and highest-ranking officer of the Aerial Knights. I loved his silent confidence and strategic leadership.

Alberich

From German mythology — a dwarven king, guardian of treasures. Wise, cunning, fiercely protective. It represents strength, leadership, and protecting what matters, even from the shadows.
And yes, being under 155cm tall, choosing a dwarven guardian name felt... oddly fitting. (・・;)ゞ

So together, my name means:

"A silver knight born in the coldest night, carrying the spirit of Alberich — a guiding light in darkness with the strength to protect and lead, even if quietly."I chose this name during a difficult time when I wanted to change and grow stronger. These names represent who I wanted to become: someone steady, protective, and able to lead — even from the quiet corners. Or at the very least, able to lead myself ♡
